This element prepared baseline forecasts of market demand for the following segments:
- Airline/Passenger Service
- Cargo Service
- General Aviation Activity
- Military Activity
- Other Aeronautical Opportunities
- Non-Aeronautical Opportunities
Additionally, alternative market demand scenarios were explored, to assess the range of potential market development across each segment.
Coordination and review of all aeronautical forecasts with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is a required step in the Master Plan process. The FAA reviews methodologies and assumptions utilized in the development of the aviation forecasts, certifies the validity of the projected demand, approves the Master Plan forecasts for inclusion in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems (NPIAS), and accepts them as reasonable for purposes of determining airport facility requirements. The FAA has issued a conditional approval of the revised baseline forecast of passenger enplanements and aircraft operations.
